Jeff Jo, who has held various key roles within Samsung for over 25 years, was appointed as President of Samsung Electronics Turkey, effective December 11, 2023.
Jo began his career in 1997 at Samsung Electronics’ headquarters in South Korea, working in the Corporate Relations department. In 2004, he took on a role in Mobile External Sales, followed by a position in 2009 as Head of the Mobile Division in Thailand. In 2014, he served as Head of the Mobile Division in Australia, and in 2019, he was appointed President of Samsung Electronics Canada.
Samsung Electronics Turkey announced the appointment of Jeff Jo as President, succeeding Philip Choi. Jo’s steady career progression at Samsung began in Corporate Relations in South Korea, after which he moved to the Mobile External Sales division in 2004. He demonstrated strong leadership as Head of the Mobile Division in Thailand in 2009, and later in Australia in 2014. In 2017, he was promoted to lead Mobile Retail Operations, where he focused on enhancing Samsung’s retail operations and customer experience for mobile products.
In 2019, Jo became President of Samsung Electronics Canada, where he achieved significant success in strengthening the company’s presence and market share in North America. In 2021, he assumed the role of Head of the Mobile Experience Retail Group, overseeing critical projects until his recent appointment as President of Samsung Electronics Turkey.
Jo expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, highlighting Turkey’s potential as a high-growth market due to its strong adaptability to innovation and technological advancements. “As a technology enthusiast, I see 2024 as a pivotal year. We at Samsung are committed to shaping industry trends with our innovative solutions and AI-integrated products,” he stated. “With artificial intelligence becoming more deeply integrated into daily life, the smart device ecosystem will undergo a transformative experience. AI not only enhances technology’s effectiveness but also makes a significant contribution to environmental sustainability. From this perspective, 2024 will mark a year of AI-driven change in our daily lives. Samsung, with our AI-enabled products and SmartThings ecosystem, is a central part of this transformation. I’m thrilled to be part of this journey with Turkey.”
Jo also emphasized Turkey’s young population, adding, “Through our corporate social responsibility programs, Innovation Campus and Solve for Tomorrow, we will continue to foster societal benefits by empowering Turkish youth with skills in emerging technologies and sustainable development.”
