Ahmet AKYOL has been serving as the CEO of ASELSAN since June 2023. Having joined ASELSAN as the Sector President for Microelectronics, Guidance, and Electro-Optics; AKYOL is leading the "aselsaneXt Transformation Program" with the goal of positioning ASELSAN among the world's top 30 defense industry companies by the end of 2030.
Between 2018 and 2022, while serving consecutively as the Head of Departments for Communications, Electronics, and Information Systems (MEBS) and Electronic Warfare and Radar Systems (EHRS) at the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), he played an active role in the implementation of critical defense industry projects. These projects include electro-optical cameras for UAVs, national identification friend or foe systems, AESA-based radars, and various electronic warfare systems.
In his previous roles at the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Ministry of National Defense between 2007 and 2017, he carried out significant work focused on the technological transformation of industrial production and the development of the Turkish Armed Forces.
In addition to his position at ASELSAN, his current duties include serving as the President of the TOBB Türkiye Defense Industry Council, Vice Chairman of the SAHA İstanbul Board of Directors, Board Member of TÜBİTAK-SAGE, Vice Chairman of the ULAK Communications Board of Directors, and Türkiye's Representative on the NATO Science and Technology Organization (STO).
